US Business Immigration Lawyer (Head of Marketing)

Ortega-Medina & Associates is a US immigration law firm located in London, which services companies and individuals throughout the EU. The firm, which has a particularly strong client base in Britain, now has an opening for a US Qualified Lawyer to assist the firm in marketing its services and further expanding its client base.

Duties:

1. Work with the firm's director, as well as independently, with new client outreach;
2. Develop and propose marketing strategies, with a focus on HR Departments and corporate decision makers;
3. Meet with Potential Clients, both on-site and in the field, to introduce the firm and its services;
4. Actively Participate with the Telephonic Screening of Potential Clients;
5. Assess and Advise Potential Clients regarding appropriate visa solutions, both short term and long term;
6. Enter into retainer agreements with Clients on behalf of the firm, under supervision of the firm's director;
7. Perform legal research and disseminate information to other fee-earners;
8. Write articles regarding topics related to US immigration, visas and consular matters.

Minimum Qualifications:

The incumbent will fulfill all of the following requirements:

1. Must be a qualified US lawyer (i.e., both an attorney and a member in good standing of the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States or of the highest court of any US State, territory, insular possession, or District of Columbia);
2. Must be well-versed in all US business visa and immigration categories;
3. Must possess significant business development and law firm marketing experience;
4. Must have excellent legal research skills regarding US laws and regulations;
5. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing;
6. Must be able to work independently and under pressure.

Preference will be given to nationals the EU, and to individuals who hold an unrestricted right to work in the United Kingdom; Previous experience in the field of Human Resources and/or Recruiting is a plus.

Compensation:

Base salary, plus a share of net fees generated

Growing US-based corporate relocation law firm with a branch office in London, seeks an experienced and well-established Corporate Immigration Solicitor to develop and lead its UK immigration department. This is an ideal position for a creative and motivated self-starter.

About the Successful Candidate

You will be a well-established Corporate Immigration Solicitor - ideally 2 - 5 + pqe*, with provable experience advising on the following business visa categories:

* Intracompany Transfers

* Investor

* Entrepreneur

* Setting up in business

* Sponsor Licenses and Work permits

* Permit-free employment

* Overseas domestic workers

* General Migrants

* Skilled Worker

You will have gained experience and built a reputation in Legal Private Practice;

Candidates who can bring a sizeable book of clients will have a distinct advantage;

Candidates must be able to display a vision to develop a marketing plan, and to actively seek and win new clients for the firm;

Business savvy and a commercial outlook is crucial;

A forward-thinking approach is key - long-term vision for the future growth and appreciation of what the firm is trying to achieve are also key.
